Non-Developer Experience
After Graduating The Citadel My first career was in Siemens HVAC controls. Originally a service technician analyzing existing equipment and running preventative maintenance diagnostics to ensure the controls and the controlling equipment were capable of meeting the building requirements in a timely manner. Less then a year in I was promoted to project manager, leading teams to completion with new builds and renovation projects. This position required getting my hands dirty at times and to be proficient in more then just managing, such as autoCad, PLC programmable logic, hardware configuration, client meetings, bending conduit and running wires when the deadlines got tight. The line of work especially on new builds always put the controls contractor last, (needing the building electrical system operational as well as the HVAC unit being assembled and checked onsite by manufacturer) which made working under pressure and being time efficient a trait i've learned to handle on a per-project basis while working at this company.
From HVAC controls, I moved onto electrical engineering in the MEP (Mechanical Electrical Plumbing) sector. which in a nutshell: I designed the layout and requirements for electrical systems for buildings ranging from schools to museums/galleries, to military buildings and offices; from the electrical utility transformer to every light fixture, receptacle, mechanical and (electrical required) plumbing equipment throughout the building.
Development Journey
Aspiring to be a Developer started in 2022, previously i've educated myself on C++ for various Arduino personal projects and Java. I started my journey to make being a developer a career with online classes through Team Treehouse initially as well as visiting MDN web docs multiple times a day. with the assist of online information likeĀ freecodecamp and various other online outlets i've gained a respective knowledge to the Front-end understanding. and have been implementing into the latest projects.
Projects at this time are under an aggressive redesign implementing backend logic where a lot of the links and pages are not available at this time. Projects shown have not been part of a build class and are original work. thank you for understanding and hope you enjoy.
